For two consecutive years, as part of his 老葡京手机app100-Charities 倡议, Malcolm partnered with the office supplies store, 斯台普斯, to deliver classroom materials to underprivileged children in schools throughout the 华盛顿特区 metropolitan region.
The 倡议 began last year after the p和emic started when Malcolm worked with 斯台普斯 to arrange for the delivery of desks to students attending virtual school from their homes.
This year, Malcolm continued his giving efforts by working again with 斯台普斯 on behalf of Sequoyah Elementary School 在Derwood, MD, a “Focus School” with nearly 50% of the students living at or below the poverty level. The store manages a program that accepts financial donations from customers then packages boxes of supplies for students. 在这种情况下, Malcolm arranged for 斯台普斯 to donate 10 boxes of school supplies including pens, 胶水, 铅笔, 魔法标记, notebooks 和 other items directly to the school, rather than to the county for distribution (斯台普斯’ usual procedure).
As students return to school this fall amid the uncertainty of an ongoing p和emic, at the very least they’ll know they have sufficient school supplies to aid with their education.
